"Wally" Pompa. Was a long time Little League Volunteer.

 

Guadalupe "Wally" "Gator" Pompa, 56, of Goliad, passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009. He was born Aug. 14, 1952, in Goliad, to the late Juanita S. Pompa.

To the Pompa family.....I am very sorry for your loss and our thoughts and prayers are with you. Having grown up in Goliad, I have known Wally for years. I worked at the same facility and played softball with Wally. Wally was a great person and a pleasure to be around, he will be missed.

May God give you some comfort in knowing that Wally was one of the best and he will be greatly missed. All my life I have heard of the good times he shared with my parents, Cuco and Emma. He always had kind words and made sure to say hi whenever our paths crossed. My heart is filled with such sorrow to hear of his passing. May all those who loved him find some comfort in knowing that now he is at peace with God, and that he will continue to watch over those he left behind. Wally Pompa meant more to me than words can explain, he raised me from a young boy and taught me how be a man. Wally was a man's man, tough, strong and had a heart of gold. He never turned down a chance to help someone or volunteer. He is one of the few people to leave this world better than when he found it. Personally, I owe everything to him. He will sadly missed! R.I.P.
